vi /etc/fstab
195.12.32.1:/home /home nfs rw,rsize=4096,wsize=4096,hard,intr,async,nodev,nosuid 0 0
195.12.32.2:/usr /usr nfs ro,rsize=8192,hard,intr,nfsvers=3,tcp,noatime,nodev,async 0 0
nfs.host.com:/home /home nfs hard,intr,rsize=16384,wsize=16384,posix,tcp 0 2
//the above is the line used on compsoc nfs. async is default!
To mount a nfs drive with the options in /etc/fstab:
mount /home
//or mount /nfsname
//or better yet - after making a change to /etc/fstab etc.:
mount -oremount /home

showmount -e ip_or_server_name
#shows what mounts a server is exporting.
