Problems with smbmnt

Recently, after an apt-get upgrade, I received the following:

sburke@server:~$ smbmount //eceweb/ngcuv08 /home/steviewdr/mount -oip=193.1.97.72,username=ul\\stephen.burke
Password:
smbmnt must be installed suid root for direct user mounts (2745,2745)
smbmnt failed: 1

After some googling, the following resolved the issue:

root@skynet:~# chmod +s /usr/bin/smbmnt
